Maintaining a hygienic and efficient working environment is one of the greatest challenges in the food industry. Belzona materials are designed to meet the challenges of this industry by curing quickly without odour, minimising downtime, labour and equipment replacement costs. The vast majority of Belzona products are solvent-free and many meet national and international standards for food contact including NSF, WRAS and USDA.

Repairs to Pipes and Tanks

Cold-curing composite repair materials including Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) can return strength to weakened or holed pipes, tanks and flanges. Solutions include bonding patches over damaged areas and the application of reinforced Belzona wraps, ideal for the permanent repair of low pressure, non-critical equipment. Damage including impact, corrosion, erosion and chemical attack can be safely repaired and equipment protected from future degradation.

Tanks and vessels common in dairies and other food production facilities can benefit from Belzona repair and protection solutions for applications including base sealing, erosion and corrosion protection, cold plate bonding and live leak sealing.

Repair and Protection of Process Equipment

Critical process equipment can be repaired and protected using solvent-free metal repair composites and protective coatings which rebuild components to their original profile and eliminate galvanic corrosion. Damaged pumps and heat exchangers can be restored to their original profile using Belzona cold-curing metal repair composites.

Protective coatings such as Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) are then applied to provide erosion and corrosion protection, reduce energy consumption, offer excellent chemical resistance and lower maintenance costs.

Roof Repair and Protection

Belzona's cold-applied liquid roof membranes have been designed to effectively repair and protect all areas of damaged roofs including joints, seams, upstands, flashings and gutters. The membranes offer outstanding waterproofing and weatherproofing capabilities, ensuring long-term leak repair and reducing the need for expensive replacement.

Liquid-applied roof coatings such as Belzona 3111 (Flexible Membrane) are proven to offer protection for over 25 years and can be applied in dairies, bakeries and other food manufacturing buildings without disrupting daily operations due to their low odour.

Floor Repair and Protection

Fast-curing concrete repair composites and coatings can resolve issues related to impact and abrasion. Concrete and stone can be resurfaced and protected using epoxy-based materials such as Belzona 4111 (Magma-Quartz), protecting them against chemical and environmental attack.

Chemical resistant coatings such as Belzona 4311 (Magma CR1) ensure long-term chemical protection to secondary containment areas, channels and gratings. For safety enhancement, Belzona 5231 (SG Laminate) provides slip-reduction flooring available in a range of colours to aid visibility. Deteriorating expansion joints can be rebuilt using Belzona 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer), which provides excellent impact and abrasion resistance.

Wall Repair and Protection

Concrete walls and other overhead concrete surfaces can be repaired using lightweight materials such as Belzona 4141 (Magma-Build), reducing downtime and avoiding the need for expensive structural rebuilding.

Hygienic coatings such as Belzona 5111 (Ceramic Cladding) provide long-term protection against physical, chemical and bacterial attack and can be easily applied by brush or spray with no specialist tools required. They are easy to clean, enabling high levels of hygiene to be maintained throughout the facility.
